Day 8 (August 28, 2006) - Chicago, IL
<<^>>
Chicago would be awesome if only we could see it.

It rained cats and dogs all day, the sky was overcast and the clouds so low that visibility was ZERO on top of Sears Tower. We were not dressed for the occasion, Francesca was wearing flip-flops and I was bloddy cold all day! We had to buy umbrellas and change plans, trying to find indoor activities. So we kept riding the Loop Train around, and went to the Navy Pier.

We decided that we will come back with better weather, after all Chicago is an easy reach by plane from Boston also for a long weekend. It's definitely worth a trip. Francesca is leaving early tomorrow morning for Boston.

Wet, frozen and disappointed, we took the train back to Elgin. Getting under the covers in bed had never been so appealing before.

Typical corner store along the Loop.

Francesca and Petino are having fun despite the weather.

Francesca kidding around.

The Navy Pier, too bad we can't even see the city from here!

Francesca saw a ghost.

Modern architecture in Chicago.

A rare view of the city among the clouds.

The right-most high-rise is the John Hancock Center.

Waiting for the train, Laura rattling her teeth, Francesca pretending not to be cold.
